|The City continues to invest heavily in flood mitigation and storm infrastructure. Council Member Kamin spoke with FOX26 this week to highlight several ongoing and recently completed projects in the Southwest part of District C, and to spotlight new action by City Council this week as they approved the engineering and design contract for the North Canal project. This project will reduce the risk of flooding where Buffalo and White Oak bayous meet near downtown. It will also benefit upstream areas in District C along the two bayous, including bridge and channel improvements at the Yale and Heights bridges over White Oak Bayou.
While Council Member Kamin is advocating for even more investments in flooding infrastructure for the District and our City, it’s important for all of us to do our part in our own neighborhoods. Before a storm, there are steps you and your family can take to help with draining in your neighborhood. Please help clear drains before storms and call 311 if you see debris blocking ditches or roadways.
